Historical Attractions in Wilkes-Barre

Houdini Tour & Museum –This museum is the only one in the world devoted to the greatest magician of all time, Harry Houdini.  It is located in Scranton, a short drive from the city of Wilkes-Barre.

Lackawanna Coal Mine Tour – The Lackawanna Coal Mine was an operational mine for a very long time.  This tour allows you to venture deep below the earth (300 feet down), and explore the reality of a working coal mine.

Luzerne Civil War Monument – The Civil War devastated lives in both the North and the South.  This monument stands as a testament to those who gave their lives to protect the Union.  The unit memorialized was instrumental in the Battle of Gettysburg.

The Delaware and Lehigh Heritage Corridor – Spanning 165 miles, the Corridor is home to some of the most impressive history and heritage in the nation.  The Corridor runs through the Wyoming Valley, as well as the Delaware Valley and the Lehigh Valley, all of which were important locations during colonial times through the present day.

Eagles Mere Historic Village – This stunning Victorian village offers an incredible lake, numerous shopping opportunities, parks in which to relax and much more.  The village was named a National Historic Site, as well.
