What Is There To Do In Wilkes-Barre?

Will you be traveling to Wilkes-Barre this year?  If so, then you can most certainly find any number of things to see, do and experience during your stay.  What’s on offer in this great Pennsylvania town?  Actually, you will find a number of great choices, from events to activities.  However, the events are the true stars of the town.

The Art of Brick runs through early May in town and can be found at the Everhart Museum.  The Student Art at the Everhart event is another popular option at the same venue.  In fact, the Everhart Museum is home to a number of events throughout the year, such as the permanent exhibits they feature during most of the year and more.

The NEPA Philharmonic is another excellent option to attend.  The Philharmonic puts on only a few performances each year, so you should certainly find out what’s going on with this incredible orchestra while you are in town.  Animal Junction is a great event that is geared for kids of all ages.  It is held in the F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing arts and offers kids and adults the chance to learn more about the animals with which we share the planet.

If you have somewhat more refined tastes, then you might like the EWGA Wine Tasting events that are held throughout the year.  These events ensure that you are able to enjoy some of the finest vintages in the world, as well as the camaraderie of others during your tasting.

Finally, if you would prefer to enjoy some outdoor activity, the Move It Outside: Guided Hike is a good option for the entire family.  It is held at Nescopeck State Park, near Drums, just a short distance from the city of Wilkes-Barre.
