The Wilkes-Barre Cherry Blossom Festival
The Wilkes-Barre Cherry Blossom Festival is held each April and brings the city together beneath the blue skies and warm sunshine of spring. Held in Kirby Park, the festival is designed to celebrate the birth of spring, with one of the most iconic symbols of new growth – the blossoming of the cherry trees.
The festival lasts for two days, and combines elements of an arts and crafts fair, a great picnic and dancing. It also offers rides for the little ones and numerous other amusements.
The Wilkes-Barre Fine Arts Fiesta
The Wilkes-Barre Fine Arts Fiesta has been an annual event for nearly 50 years. It brings together artists and art lovers, crafters and connoisseurs and everyday folk from all around the nation. It is also the oldest festival of its kind in the state. This festival runs for four entire days and offers kids and adults alike the chance to indulge all of the senses in the world of art. Of course, it also gives artists a place to hawk their wares in the artists’ market.
The Wilkes-Barre Farmers’ Market
The Wilkes-Barre Farmer’s Market is an annual event in the city held during the month of June. This festival brings together thousands of people each year, for a summer of fun and enjoyment. Beginning in June, the Farmers’ Market runs every Thursday through November in Public Square.
Attendees will be able to buy homegrown produce, enjoy unique dining options, celebrate with live music and buy homemade handicrafts from local artisans.
There are numerous other Wilkes-Barre annual events. You will find the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the Party on the Square, Summer’s Cool on the Square, the annual Christmas Parade and the 4th of July Celebration.
